How to listen to articles on your Android phone
Most read-aloud tools make you copy text, paste it somewhere else, and press play. SideReader starts from the article you already have open.
Open a story in your browser, or in a news app you've turned on, and SideReader spots it. A small player shows up in your notifications. Tap play and listen.

How it works
- Open an article. Read the news the way you already do, in your browser or a news app you've turned on.
- The player appears. SideReader finds the article text and puts a player in your notifications.
- Tap play. Pause, skip, or change the speed right from the player.
Works in the apps you pick
Detection is on for browsers by default. You can turn it on for the news apps you use. SideReader only looks for articles in the apps you've chosen. (Samsung Internet isn't supported right now.)
Reading text from somewhere else
If something isn't detected, highlight the text and choose "Read with SideReader," or share the text to the app.
A natural voice, free
The Sky voice is a warm US English voice. It's free and runs on your phone. Leave a tip of any size and 10 more US and UK English voices unlock for good.
Private by design
No ads, no account, no analytics. Your listening history stays on your phone.
